About this program
UQ's Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) trains students in the diagnostic and clinical skills needed to help patients recover from injury, manage chronic conditions and restore movement and function. Teaching combines clinical visits, seminars, practical skills sessions and supervised clinical practice with an award-winning simulated patient program run in UQ's hospital simulation ward and its own physiotherapy clinics. Coursework spans musculoskeletal, neurological and respiratory conditions, covering injury prevention, clinical reasoning and diagnosis, and therapeutic exercise prescription, building toward registration as a physiotherapist. The embedded honours qualification is internationally recognised and gives graduates the option of continuing into physiotherapy research after they finish. Typical graduate destinations include general physiotherapy practice, sports physiotherapy, community health physiotherapy or further clinical research.
