About this program
The Graduate Certificate in Animal Science is a half-year postgraduate program at UQ's St Lucia campus for recent graduates in any field and for professionals redirecting their career into animal science. Students select from more than 20 courses across genetics, breeding, nutrition, biosecurity, agronomy, agribusiness and human-wildlife interaction, along with business electives that build management ability. The program develops leadership, research and problem-solving skills aimed at the global challenges of feeding the world and maintaining the environment, and can lead into further study. Graduates work in government, commercial, community and research roles across livestock production, animal nutrition, breeding and genetics, and biosecurity.

Admissions
To be eligible for entry, you'll need: a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, or 2 years of work experience in the field of animal science. You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.
