About this program
The Master of Laws (LLM) is a postgraduate coursework program at UQ's St Lucia campus, the premier law school in Queensland, designed to give practitioners and law graduates a rigorous set of knowledge and skills to excel in their chosen specialities. Students select from a suite of law courses relevant to legal practice in Australia and internationally, with an emphasis on independent and advanced legal analysis. Admissions
Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice or equivalent qualification, or 2 years of professional full-time equivalent relevant work experience (see below), or an equivalent academic or professional qualification in law and be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Executive Dean that you have the requisite knowledge and experience to complete the program. Relevant work experience Relevant work experience includes work as a solicitor; barrister; in-house legal practitioner; legal consultant with a major consulting firm; patent attorney; judge’s associate or clerk; court registrar or judge; contracts officer or claims manager within a commercial entity; bank, finance or insurance officer; research officer within a legal practice, law reform commission or public advocacy organisation; legal studies teacher or legal academic.
