About this program
The Bachelor of Music (Music Education) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music prepares students to become music teachers in primary or secondary schools, combining performance, composition and the latest teaching techniques and technology. Students choose a study focus in performance, composition, contemporary music practice or musicology, alongside music education, choral and instrumental pedagogy, and music technology training.
Students also build information and communication technology competencies and an understanding of children with special educational needs. Graduates move into roles as music teachers, performing soloists, chamber musicians, orchestral players and community music educators.
