About this program
The Bachelor of Veterinary Biology and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Sydney is a six-year combined degree building a scientific foundation before specialist clinical and medical training. The first two years cover the fundamentals of biomedical and animal sciences that underpin veterinary practice, before students progress into the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine's prescribed core units and clinical placements.
Graduates become veterinary medical professionals equipped for private practice in livestock, equine, small animal or mixed clinics, as well as corporate veterinary and research roles. Sydney is ranked first in Australia and 26th in the world for veterinary science.
