About this program
The Graduate Diploma in Design at the University of Sydney is a 1-year postgraduate coursework graduate diploma. This program will deepen their understanding of the role of design in today’s business landscape and allow students to apply design thinking in practice. Students learn how to use design as a framework for solving complex problems and have an opportunity to apply design methods to real-world scenarios. Through a combination of core units, advanced core units and electives students acquire broad skills in communication, information literacy, inventiveness, and critical thinking. Students can choose to focus on Design Innovation or on Strategic Design in their Major Project. Depending on their focus, students learn about the principles of design-led innovation, developing strategies for innovation and devising practices that lead to a strategic advantage in the market.
