About this program

The Bachelor of Business at the University of Tasmania is a standard broad-based business degree (accounting, finance, marketing, management and economics majors are all available), but it's taught through the Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, which carries AACSB accreditation, the same international quality benchmark held by a relatively small number of Australian business schools. For a business degree at a university of Tasmania's size, that's a genuine point of comparison against much larger metropolitan business schools that hold the same accreditation.

The degree is flexible by design, letting students combine a major with a minor or a second major rather than locking into a single specialisation from day one, and Hobart's compact business community means placement and internship opportunities with local firms, Tasmanian government agencies and the state's growing tourism and agribusiness sectors are more directly accessible than the same search would be in a crowded mainland capital.

Graduates go into accounting, banking and finance, marketing and general management roles, both within Tasmania's own business sector and, for those who want it, into mainland or international graduate programs where the degree's AACSB accreditation carries recognised weight.
