About this program
This double master's degree is the only one of its kind in Australia, combining business training with professional translation studies. Students develop bilingual professional capability across English and one of eight languages, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean or Spanish, through translation practice across a variety of text types related to diverse business contexts, alongside a full commerce specialisation. Graduates are qualified for professional employment in multilingual contexts including business, government and non-government organisations, and those who choose the coursework and dissertation pathway in Translation Studies can progress into PhD study in the field.

Admissions
Applicants need a bachelor's degree with a weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent in relevant Level 3 units, or at least two years of professional experience in a relevant occupation, or completion of specific UWA graduate certificates in business fields. In addition, applicants must show native or near native competency in their chosen language, or meet specific proficiency benchmarks: B2 or C1 on the Common European Framework for European languages, HSK 4 for Chinese, or JLPT N2 or N3 for Japanese, with equivalent standards applying for the other language options.
