Bachelor of Nursing
University of Wollongong, Wollongong, NSW, Australia
About this program
UOW's nursing degree leads to registration eligibility with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. It carries a heavy clinical placement load: well over 800 hours spread across acute, aged care, community, and mental health settings, mostly within Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District facilities given the university's location next to Wollongong Hospital.
Simulation labs on campus get heavy use in first and second year before students move to live placements, and the school runs a specific rural and remote placement stream for students willing to travel, which some take up for the different clinical exposure it offers.
