About this program
The Bachelor of Science (Medicine) Honours at UNSW Sydney is a one-year research program offered to students in year 4 of the six-year Medicine program, or the Arts/Medicine program, who have achieved a high standard in their studies. Students can choose a coursework-intensive mode, which reduces the research project to 18 units of credit alongside 18 units of coursework from an approved specialisation and 12 units in general practice, or an extended research mode with a 36 unit research project and 12 units in general practice. The year, normally spent in supervised research, develops skills in observation and research, scientific writing and presentation, and the interpretation of research underpinning evidence-based clinical practice, providing a foundation for a career in medical research. It is based at the UNSW Kensington campus in Sydney.
