About this program
UNSW's Diploma in Business is a 12-month pathway into the Bachelor of Commerce, letting students complete eight business courses plus a communication and academic literacy course, all equivalent in content to first-year UNSW courses but delivered at a slower pace with more face-to-face contact hours. Credit is granted toward the Bachelor of Commerce for each course achieved at the specified level, so successful completion of all nine courses leads directly into commerce degree study rather than requiring a separate application process. The program is deliberately structured to ease the transition into university learning styles, lectures, tutorials and problem-solving workshops, with additional support built in throughout, though the economics and information systems streams aren't currently available. It suits students who want a Monash-style university experience and support structure before committing to full undergraduate commerce study, particularly those without strong prior advanced mathematics who may also benefit from a mathematics bridging course beforehand.

Course structure
- Students must complete 54 UOC when taken as a standalone program. Students must select courses in the relevant areas of study/stream (Commerce, Economics or Information Systems) based on the intended articulated UNSW undergraduate program
- i.e. Bachelor of Commerce
- Bachelor of Economics or Bachelor of Information Systems. Note: Economics and Information Systems areas of study/streams are currently not available

Admissions
For admission to the Diploma, an applicant is usually expected to have completed Secondary School or the equivalent, such as University Foundation Studies, prior to commencement of their studies.
