About this program
The Diploma in Computer Science at UNSW Sydney is a 12-month program that leads into a Computer Science degree and a career in the field or a related area. Students complete seven science and engineering courses plus communication and academic literacy courses, all equivalent to first-year UNSW courses, and credit is granted toward the Bachelor of Computer Science. On successful completion students receive advanced standing equivalent to one year, 48 units of credit, and move into the Bachelor of Computer Science at UNSW Sydney. Courses match first-year UNSW content and outcomes but are delivered at a slower pace with more face-to-face contact hours and additional support, helping students adjust to university learning through lectures, laboratories and problem-solving workshops. It is delivered at the UNSW Kensington campus in Sydney by UNSW College.
