About this program
UNSW's Graduate Certificate in Design combines two core design courses covering design processes and communication with two electives chosen from specific design practice areas or other studio options, aimed at both people with an existing design background wanting to extend their qualifications and career-changers entering design from other professions. Graduates leave with genuinely enhanced design skills and understanding, whether they choose to continue into the Graduate Diploma in Design or Master of Design, or move directly into design and media professional roles. Admissions
Graduate Certificate candidates are not eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). A bachelor's degree in any field. Applicants who apply without a bachelor's degree can be admitted to the Graduate Certificate on a case-by-case basis by the Program Authority, on the basis of professional experience and submission of a portfolio. To gain entry into the Graduate Certificate based on professional experience and portfolio, a minimum of 5 years industry experience is expected. Applicants who do not meet the standard entry requirements for this program may submit a portfolio for consideration as an alternative entry pathway. Portfolio Submission Minimum Requirements: 1) A 10 page A4 digital portfolio of original design work undertaken by the applicant.
