Master of Simulation and Immersive Technologies

UNSW Sydney, Sydney, NSW, Australia

About this program

UNSW's Master of Simulation and Immersive Technologies takes a human-centric, design-led approach to virtual, augmented and mixed reality, combining industry and academic perspectives with practical assignments and real industry demonstrations across media and creative arts, health, defence, business, education and manufacturing sectors. The program develops global leaders with a genuinely immersive design mindset, capable of applying simulation and immersive practices to real-world problems rather than treating VR and AR as purely technical novelties, culminating in a capstone studio applying learning to actual industry domains. Flexible delivery, full-time or part-time, fully online or with campus access for Sydney-based students, suits working professionals bringing existing domain expertise from any sector, since core courses offer only a limited technical software introduction and students are encouraged to build deeper technical skills through electives. It suits professionals with existing industry expertise who want a broadening, human-centred foundation in simulation and immersive technology relevant to their field.
