Bachelor of Business

Victoria University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

VU's general business degree lets students pick a major (accounting, marketing, human resource management, management or international business among them) after a common first-year foundation, and like the rest of VU's undergraduate offering it's delivered block-mode, one unit over four weeks rather than a full timetable of subjects running in parallel.

The course is aimed squarely at Melbourne's west: a large share of VU's business students are first-in-family university attendees or came through pathway diplomas, and the degree includes built-in study support and a Professional Year option that matters to the substantial number of international students in the cohort chasing skilled migration points after graduation. There's also a work-integrated learning unit in most majors, connecting students with local employers rather than leaving placement entirely up to students to arrange.

It's not a prestige-brand business degree in the way a Melbourne or Monash commerce degree might be, and VU doesn't pretend otherwise: its pitch is accessibility and a direct line into local industry rather than an elite cohort experience.
