About this program
A four-year, 192 unit engineering degree focused on environmental problems, combining engineering with chemistry, mathematics and environmental science to address water quality, waste, contamination and climate risk. Honours is integrated across the degree. Core subjects include water engineering, wastewater treatment, soil remediation, environmental systems and sustainability, and climate risk analysis, with electives in green infrastructure, hydrology and renewable energy systems, and stackable diploma and associate degree exit points. The program includes up to 12 weeks of industry placement and a major honours research and design project, and holds provisional professional engineer accreditation from Engineers Australia. Entry requires SACE Stage 2 Mathematical Methods or equivalent and IELTS 6.5. Graduates work in environmental consulting, water utilities, remediation, renewable energy and government. It suits students who want to apply engineering to environmental and sustainability challenges.
