About this program
A two-year initial teacher education master's (96 units) that leads to eligibility for teacher registration. Adelaide University offers it in primary (Reception to Year 6) and secondary streams. The primary program includes 520 hours of supervised placement (about 60 days) across two professional experience courses.
It is accredited by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia; recognition in other states and countries varies. Entry requires a bachelor's degree with a GPA around 5.0 on a 7-point scale, IELTS 7 across all bands, and a Working With Children Check, and students must pass the national LANTITE literacy and numeracy test before their final placement. Primary is taught mainly at the Magill campus, with Mount Gambier and Whyalla options.
