About this program
The Bachelor of Music (Composition) is designed for composers who know they have something to say and are ready to learn how to say it at the highest level. Students develop the originality, technical mastery, and creative range to compose across film, television, video games, and digital media, exploring everything from orchestration and arranging to sound design and multimedia installation, guided by industry professionals who have scored, produced, and placed music at the highest levels of the industry. Delivered face to face with some online components at AIM's Melbourne and Sydney campuses; domestic students complete 6 study periods (2 years full-time) and international students 9 study periods (3 years full-time). Admissions
Domestic: completed Australian Year 12 (or overseas equivalent, including IB) within the last 2 years, or entry via tertiary study/mature-age pathway; applicants must attend an interview or live audition and provide a portfolio of two contrasting pieces. International: completed Australian Year 12 (or overseas equivalent, including IB) within the last 2 years, plus minimum standard English requirements; applicants must attend an interview and provide a portfolio of two contrasting pieces (AIM's own course page and Entry Requirements for International Students page).
