About this program
The Bachelor of Applied Music at Victoria University blends creativity with real-world application, preparing students for careers in music teaching, production, performance, mixed-media arts and community projects, and setting them up for further study in music education, music therapy, community development, youth work and social work. The course focuses on four interconnected areas: music teaching, creative digital music production including video, streaming and AI music, music for life and music for change covering wellbeing and social change, and performance skills. It explores the power of music to support emotional, cultural and social wellbeing and to engage with Indigenous and social-justice issues. It is offered at VU in Melbourne.

Admissions
Meeting the minimum entry criteria does not guarantee entry into this course. Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English (or equivalent). OR:. Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent). OR:. Completion of a Foundation course or equivalent. PLUS:. IELTS (or equivalent): Overall score of 6.0 (with no band less than 6.0 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking).
