About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Art History and Curating combines the study of art history and theory with genuine curatorial practice, based at the Caulfield campus alongside MUMA, Monash's own internationally recognised art gallery. Students get direct access to MUMA's annual calendar of visiting artists and contemporary exhibitions, giving them real exposure to how galleries actually operate rather than studying curation purely in the abstract. The degree suits students drawn to the intellectual side of art history alongside the practical, professional skills of curating exhibitions and managing collections, distinguishing it from a straight fine art practice degree or a general humanities art history major.
