About this program
The ANU Master of Economics is a 96-unit degree, normally two years full-time, that builds advanced economic theory and quantitative skills. Entry requires a bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5.0 on the ANU 7-point scale, and applicants must also meet program-specific and English requirements; admission is competitive. The degree is technically demanding and is designed both for economists moving into analytical roles and as preparation for doctoral study. ANU notes that graduates skills match the requirements of analysis roles in Treasury, central banks and international institutions such as the OECD and IMF, and that graduates are also sought by consulting firms and the finance and banking industry for economic and data analysis, and are strong candidates for leading PhD programs.
