About this program
The Graduate Certificate in Economics at the University of Sydney builds critical thinking, data analysis and problem-solving skills for a career in the public or private sector, suited to students with little or no prior background in economics. Foundation-level units give an in-depth introduction to microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and quantitative methods, with a pathway to progress into the full Master of Economics.
Graduates move into roles such as analyst, researcher, adviser and consultant with financial institutions, regulatory authorities, government departments and consultancies. The School of Economics is taught by economists whose research influences policy at the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Treasury.
