About this program
This is a two-semester honours program (80 credit points), taken after the Bachelor of Actuarial Science, not a standalone degree. Semester one covers Actuarial Control Cycle 1 and the first part of a research thesis; semester two covers Actuarial Control Cycle 2, statistical learning and regression models, and the second part of the thesis, which ends with a research seminar. Thesis topics are drawn from current developments in actuarial practice and financial services.
Completing it gives all university components of Part II of the Actuaries Institute's Actuary Program. Full Part II accreditation also requires two further subjects delivered online by the Actuaries Institute. Students who want the professional pathway generally take this honours year rather than stopping at the pass degree.

Completion of Australian Year 12 (or equivalent) with strong results in Mathematical Methods/Specialist Mathematics; Bond applies its own admission score rather than a strict ATAR cut-off, and considers alternative pathways (Diploma, Foundation Program).
