About this program

This two-year International Relations degree (six trimesters, 24 subjects) covers international security, strategic analysis, political economy, global governance, and climate politics, with a second-year major in a chosen specialist area. Bond builds the program around applied work: a dedicated Model United Nations subject feeds into global competitions and the student-run UN association's conferences, simulation exercises run through most subjects, and for-credit internships place students in embassy, government, and NGO settings. Teaching staff include specialists in international security, intelligence, and sports diplomacy.

First year combines IR foundations with Bond's core subjects in critical thinking and leadership plus open electives. Graduates typically move into DFAT, defence and intelligence agencies, diplomatic missions, and international NGOs. The compressed schedule also leaves time to add a Law or Business degree, or to progress straight to postgraduate study.
