Bachelor of Jurisprudence
Bond University, Gold Coast, QLD, Australia
About this program
A two-year degree (six semesters) that combines law subjects with a second field in the humanities or social sciences. Like the Bachelor of Business Law, it is for students who want legal knowledge without the professional practice requirements, and it is not the pathway to admission as a lawyer, which is the Bachelor of Laws.
All students take legal foundations and Bond's four core subjects, then build the rest of the degree from law electives plus subjects in areas such as international relations, criminology, languages, communication, and humanities. The result is a customised law-plus-something degree aimed at careers in policy, journalism, government, advocacy, and business where legal reasoning is useful but a practising certificate is not needed.
