About this program
A one-year master's (three semesters, trimester intakes) covering crime analysis, cybercrime, transnational crime, global justice, and research and data analytics. Students choose between a two-semester major research project, recommended for anyone heading toward a PhD or research role, or a one-semester minor project or portfolio with three general electives.
It is open to graduates from outside criminology as well as people already working in justice, policing, or policy who want a formal qualification. The choice of research pathway is the main decision an applicant needs to make up front.

On both MLTSSL and CSOL, but a positive skills assessment is not the same as being able to practise. You must first be admitted to an Australian state legal profession, which for an overseas or JD graduate means passing the assessed academic subjects, completing Practical Legal Training, and being admitted by the state Supreme Court, before the occupation is realistically usable for a visa.
