About this program
A 12 credit point graduate certificate for non-law graduates who want working legal knowledge, delivered fully online and part-time over about eight months. It is not a qualification to practise law. Students take two foundation units, Legal Methods and Skills and Legal Systems, plus two electives such as Contract Law, Constitutional Law or Intellectual Property Law. Entry requires a bachelor's degree in a non-law field with a sound grade average and IELTS 6.5. Graduates can progress into UC's Graduate Diploma in Law or the Juris Doctor, which does lead toward admission to practise. It suits professionals in compliance, policy, government relations and business who need to understand the law without becoming a lawyer.
