About this program
The Graduate Certificate in Laws at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a four-subject course for law graduates who want focused study in a specific area of Australian or international law. Students choose two subjects from the Law or non-common-law streams, complete a research preparation subject, and write an 8,000 to 10,000 word paper on an approved legal topic.
The course is highly flexible and suits practitioners building specialist expertise or research capability. It articulates into the UTS Master of Laws. English requirements are IELTS Academic 7.0 overall.

Completed Australian Bachelor of Laws, Juris Doctor, or doctorate of Law, or overseas equivalent (excluding a Shari’a law degree) OR Passed the Chinese Legal Professional Qualification Examination to practise law OR Completed NSW Legal Profession Admission Board (LPAB) Diploma in Law AND A minimum of 1 year full-time, or equivalent part-time, relevant legal experience OR Completed Australian Graduate Certificate in Laws or Australian Graduate Diploma in Laws, or overseas equivalent (excluding a Shari’a law degree)
