About this program
CSU is one of the largest producers of teaching graduates in Australia, and its Master of Education is built for people already in the classroom rather than as an entry qualification. Most students are practising teachers upgrading their credentials or repositioning into leadership, special education, TESOL or curriculum roles while still working. It's delivered predominantly online with intensive residential schools for some specialisations, a model CSU has run for teacher education longer than most competitors.
Students pick a specialisation stream (options typically include Educational Leadership, TESOL, Inclusive and Special Education, and Literacy) after a shared core of research and pedagogy subjects, and the course culminates in either a research project or an extended professional inquiry tied to the student's own school context, which makes the degree noticeably more workplace-embedded than a purely theoretical education master's.
