About this program
Deakin University Bachelor of Information Technology gives students the skills to launch an IT career while building specialist depth in a chosen area such as programming, networking, cyber security, cloud applications, entrepreneurship or user-centred design. Students complete nine units, taken as one major of six units plus three electives, one minor plus five electives, or two minors plus one elective; core units cover data science and artificial intelligence, responsive web apps, cyber security, software engineering and user-centred design. Entry needs a minimum ATAR of 50 plus the English requirement, with Trimester 1 in March and Trimester 2 in July intakes, and a Deakin College diploma pathway gives direct entry into second year. Indicative international tuition is around A$43,600 per year. Graduates work as network and IT security officers, programmers, database and web designers, analysts and consultants across health, education, finance, government, mining and agriculture.
