Career & PR pathway

Which careers in Psychology lead to skilled migration depends on the occupation, not the degree title. See the skilled occupation lists guide for which occupations are on each list, and the points calculator to check where you stand.

Admissions

Applicants require an APAC-accredited three year Bachelor degree with a major in Psychology and a Weighted Course Average of 70 percent or higher, with a Credit average in second and third year units and in the majority of Psychology units, plus demonstrated aptitude for and commitment to research. As the course has a quota, the actual WAM required varies by year and is often well above the 70 percent minimum. Overseas psychology qualifications must be assessed by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) as equivalent to an APAC-accredited Level 1 qualification. Also satisfied by a Bachelor degree in a cognate discipline, or equivalent prior learning including at least five years of relevant professional experience. International students must also provide secondary school results. Not accepted through ECUs Experience Based Entry Scheme.
