About this program
Flinders University's Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education - 2 years degree. This course acknowledges the diverse range of learners in preschools and schools and their entitlement to an equitable and appropriate education, and is designed to prepare educators and other professionals to build research-informed knowledge, skills and understandings that will enable them to implement and lead inclusive processes and practices in their schools and sites. The Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education offers a wide range of topics to enable students to tailor their studies to suit their particular learning goals and contexts. Up to two eligible Graduate Certificates can be credited towards this course. To graduate with the Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education, you must be admitted to the course and complete a further one or two Minors as prescribed below in the course rule. Eligible Graduate Certificates are: One or two of core focus areas: Graduate Certificate in Autism and Complex Disabilities Graduate Certificate in Education Research OR Graduate Certificate in Research and Evaluation for Practice Graduate Certificate in Student Inclusion One of optional focus area: Graduate Certificate in Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in Education Graduate Certificate in Education Pedagogy and Practice Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Education Graduate Certificate in STEM Education Graduate Certificate in Student Wellbeing

Course structure
- To qualify for the Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education
- a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic
- according to the program of study below. Not all topics are necessarily available each year. Upon completion of 18 units a student may choose to exit with one of the following awards
- subject to meeting the program of study for that award: Graduate Certificate in Autism and Complex Disabilities Graduate Certificate in Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence in Education Graduate Certificate in Education Pedagogy and Practice Graduate Certificate in Indigenous Education
- Pedagogy and Leadership Graduate Certificate in Research and Evaluation for Practice Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Education Graduate Certificate in STEM Education Graduate Certificate in Student Inclusion Graduate Certificate in Student Wellbeing

Admissions
Applicants must normally hold a degree or equivalent qualification in education, disability studies, psychology, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy or a closely related discipline from an approved tertiary institution. However, the Dean (Education) may, under certain circumstances and subject to specific conditions, admit others who can show evidence of fitness for candidature.
