Master of Teaching (Early Childhood)

Flinders University's Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) degree. The Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) is an initial teacher education degree that focuses on the play, learning, development and wellbeing of children from birth through to eight years of age. You'll explore how children grow, learn and express themselves in diverse and dynamic ways, and learn to design inclusive, challenging and meaningful learning experiences. With a strong focus on play, relationships and children's agency, you'll develop the knowledge and skills to support every child as a capable and active participant in their world. Throughout the course, you'll build your confidence in working with families, communities and interdisciplinary teams, and learn to use research, data and theory to inform your teaching. You'll also gain the tools to communicate effectively across a range of settings and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in your practice. Graduates are equipped to teach in a variety of early childhood settings, including preschools, kindergartens and the early years of primary school. You'll be ready to make a real difference in the lives of young children and their communities. For applicants who would benefit from further contextual preparation for study and teaching in Australia, completion of the Graduate Certificate in Teaching Studies should be considered as an initial introduction to the profession.
