Griffith's Juris Doctor is a 240-credit-point graduate-entry law degree, two to three years full-time, taught at the Gold Coast, Brisbane South and online. Griffith is ranked Queensland's leading university for law and criminology in the 2025 ShanghaiRanking Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. Students study the compulsory areas including crime, contracts, torts, constitutional and property law while building reasoning, advocacy and research skills, and can take a major in Canadian law, international law or migration law. Entry is a bachelor degree in a field other than law with a grade point average of at least 4.0, and IELTS 7.0. Completing the degree makes graduates eligible to seek admission as solicitors or barristers in Australia after separate practical legal training.
