About this program
La Trobe's Master of Artificial Intelligence is a two-year, 240-credit-point degree that pairs core AI technical skills with professional practice. Study covers IT fundamentals, machine learning, data mining, computer vision, natural language processing and cybersecurity, along with deep-learning techniques for image recognition, machine translation and speech synthesis. Students learn to build AI solutions to real-world problems and to weigh the ethical and societal issues the technology raises, and rounds out the degree with subjects in entrepreneurship, professional practice and project management. Entry is a completed bachelor degree; applicants with a computing background may qualify for a shorter pathway. IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0. Graduates work as AI consultants, developers and solutions architects, machine learning engineers and software engineers, in fields from digital healthcare and smart manufacturing to precision agriculture.
