About this program
La Trobe's Master of Nursing Practice is a two-year, 240-credit-point pre-registration degree that qualifies people with a bachelor degree in any discipline to become registered nurses, whether upskilling or changing careers. It is taught through the La Trobe Rural Health School, with theory from clinicians and academics and 800 hours of clinical placement in regional and rural hospitals and health services. Study covers primary care, acute care, chronic illness, Indigenous health and mental health. The degree is accredited by the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council, and graduates may be eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia. IELTS 7.0 with no band below 7.0. Graduates work as registered nurses across acute, subacute, primary and community health and aged care. Indicative international tuition is around A$47,600 per year.
