Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Doctor of Pharmacy
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's combined pharmacy pathway lets students complete a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) followed immediately by a Master of Pharmacy integrated with a paid work-based internship, letting students earn two degrees and full registration eligibility in the same time it takes to complete a standard pharmacy qualification elsewhere in Australia. Both direct-from-school and graduate entry pathways are available, and the same hands-on training applies throughout, including work placements in hospitals and community pharmacies, the MyDispense simulation platform, and a supervised research project during the bachelor's stage. Entry into the master's stage depends on successfully completing the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours), gaining provisional registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia, and securing an approved intern training position, so progression isn't automatic but reflects genuine readiness for supervised practice. It suits students who want to become fully registered pharmacists as efficiently as possible, using their required internship year productively toward postgraduate credit rather than treating it as separate from their formal qualification.
