About this program
La Trobe's Master of Public Health is a 240-credit-point degree, two years full-time, taught at the City campus in Melbourne, online, or in Sydney, with a 1.5-year pathway for graduates who hold a cognate health bachelor plus two years of relevant work experience. No health background is required for the standard entry. Core study builds foundations in systems thinking, epidemiology, health policy and research methods, and how to gather, interpret and use health data, and students choose one of seven specialisations including health promotion, health management, health strategy and policy, digital health, and ageing strategy and policy. Entry is a three-year bachelor degree, with IELTS 6.5 and no band below 6.0. Graduates work as policy officers, health project managers, and in health promotion and epidemiology roles across government, the private sector and community organisations. Indicative international tuition is around A$44,200 per year.
