About this program
The Doctor of Physiotherapy is a 3 year Masters (Extended) course. The DPT offers an extended curriculum with advanced clinical knowledge and skills as well as business, leadership and advocacy skills. Students undertake an extensive and innovative integrated clinical education program, and a substantial research project. The Doctor of Physiotherapy aims to ensure graduates have the following capabilities: Capability 1 Scientist and Scholar: Graduates will be scientists and scholars with advanced knowledge and skills to deliver science and evidence-based physiotherapy practice. Capability 2 Clinical Practitioner: Graduates will be effective communicators and highly skilled physiotherapists delivering person-centred healthcare. Capability 3 Engaged Global Citizen: Graduates will be socially and culturally safe adaptive practitioners with awareness of local and global public health issues, able to operate effectively in a range of health systems and advocate for innovations to enhance health. Capability 4 Professional: Graduates will be ethical and reflective physiotherapy practitioners able to lead and work collaboratively within teams. This is a Macquarie University (Sydney) course.

Admissions
At least: AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 65, completed within 10 years prior to commencement date of the course; and satisfactory Casper test score, completed within the 12 months prior to commencement date of the course. Offers are competitive, meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee offer of admission. Ranking of applicants is based on 50% WAM and 50% Casper score. An alternative admission pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants include at least an AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent with a WAM of 60 in the last 10 years and satisfactory Casper test score within the last 12 months.
