Master of Intelligence
Macquarie University, Sydney, NSW, Australia
About this program
In an era defined by complex threats and rapid technological change, intelligence is a crucial tool for managing uncertainty and informing decision making. Macquarie University’s Master of Intelligence equips students with the analytical, ethical, and operational skills to navigate global intelligence challenges, from geopolitical competition to transnational crime. Students will explore the theory and evolution of intelligence, both in Australia and internationally, and engage deeply with the intelligence cycle across national security, law enforcement, and corporate domains. Emphasis is placed on structured analytic techniques, intelligence communication, and ethical frameworks, as well as the use of open-source and digital intelligence tools. Through practical and theoretical study—including scenario-based simulations, internships, and real-world case studies—students will build expertise across all stages of intelligence production and leadership. Graduates will be prepared for impactful careers in intelligence, investigation, and strategic analysis in government, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
