Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) shares a common first year across all engineering branches, giving every student the same foundational design-and-build experience before they choose a specific specialisation from second year onward, spanning aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, environmental, electrical and computer systems, materials, mechanical, robotics and mechatronics, or software engineering. After specialising, students build in-depth technical knowledge specific to their chosen branch alongside the project management and engineering methods skills needed to run real engineering projects. High-achieving students in the engineering management, renewable energy or smart manufacturing specialisations can fast-track into the Master of Engineering through an accelerated pathway, using bachelor's electives to complete master's-level units and graduating with both degrees in less time than doing them separately. It suits students who want engineering depth but aren't yet certain which specific branch of engineering to pursue, since the shared first year gives genuine room to explore before committing to a specialisation for the rest of the degree.
