About this program
Monash University's Bachelor of Information Technology is a three-year degree with eight core units covering programming, professional practice, databases, project management and a final-year industry experience project, plus the core units of at least one IT major. Students major in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, computer science, software development, games and immersive media, data science or business information systems, and do not have to choose a major until the end of first year. The degree also includes eight free electives and, depending on the major, up to three further IT electives, and embeds professional placement and work-integrated learning so students graduate with a portfolio. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements can enter through the Monash College Diploma pathway. Graduates move into a wide range of technical and management roles across sectors.
