Bachelor of Science
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Bachelor of Science gives students a broad general science education alongside specialist training in one or more disciplines, chosen from a wide range of majors and minors that let students explore new interests while building real depth in their chosen area. Alongside subject-specific knowledge, the course builds generic competencies including critical thinking, problem solving, quantitative literacy and communication skills that apply across scientific and non-scientific careers alike. That combination of specialist science knowledge and broadly applicable skills means graduates aren't limited to traditional laboratory science roles, with past graduates moving into journalism, business research and analysis, public relations, banking and finance, public policy and community services alongside more conventional science careers. It suits students who want genuine flexibility to explore several science disciplines before committing to a specialisation, or who know their specialisation but want the option to pursue honours, postgraduate study or a non-traditional science-adjacent career after graduating.
