About this program
The Doctor of Physiotherapy is Monash's graduate-entry route into physiotherapy practice, designed for students who already hold an undergraduate science degree and want a fast, focused path to registration rather than starting a four-year undergraduate program. Delivered at the Peninsula campus over three years, the course builds an integrated curriculum across musculoskeletal, neurological and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, combining case-based learning with early clinical placements that expand into acute, subacute and community settings by the second and third year. A final-year selective placement and independent research project let students shape the degree toward the area of practice they're most drawn to, whether that's sports physiotherapy, aged care or rehabilitation. Graduates meet Physiotherapy Board of Australia registration requirements and the course aligns with practice thresholds recognised in both Australia and New Zealand, so it opens the door to physiotherapy careers on either side of the Tasman as well as further international registration in many countries.

Admissions
An Australian bachelor degree* (or equivalent) in a relevant area of study** with at least 70% distinction average *Completion of undergraduate degree within last 10 years ** Relevant area of study must include human anatomy AND human physiology AND biostatistics. Example units within the Bachelor of Science: both DEV2011 and DEV2022 (human anatomy), either PHY2042 or PHY2810 (human physiology), either STA1010 or SCI1020 (biostatistics).
