Graduate Certificate of Educational Research

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Graduate Certificate of Educational Research is aimed at people who already hold a qualification in education, TESOL, counselling or a related social science discipline and want to move into generating educational research rather than only consuming it. The course introduces research methodologies and research design specific to education, then has students apply that knowledge directly by designing and carrying out their own research project, building the ability to synthesise, analyse and communicate findings rather than just describe theory. It suits practising educators considering a research career, a PhD in education, or a move into policy and evaluation roles where the ability to design and interpret a genuine research study matters. Because the certificate is short and heavily research-focused, it's best suited to people who already have solid grounding in an education-related field and want to add a specific, practical research skill set on top of it.
