Graduate Certificate of Legal Studies
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Graduate Certificate of Legal Studies is built specifically for non-lawyers who need legal literacy to make better managerial and commercial decisions, rather than for people planning to practise law. The four-unit course gives theoretical and practical grounding across a variety of legal areas, aimed at giving managers, executives and business professionals a genuine competitive edge from understanding how legal frameworks shape commercial decision-making. Entry accepts either an Australian bachelor's degree or three years of relevant work experience approved by the faculty, making it accessible to experienced managers without a university law background. It suits business leaders, managers and executives across any industry who regularly need to understand legal risk and compliance but don't need or want a professional legal qualification, and functions well as either standalone professional development or a stepping stone into Monash's Graduate Diploma of Legal Studies.
