Graduate Diploma in Reproductive Sciences
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Graduate Diploma of Reproductive Sciences is run through the Education Program in Reproduction and Development, drawing on the Ritchie Centre for Baby Health Research and the Hudson Institute of Medical Research alongside partners including Monash IVF, Family Planning Victoria and the Victorian Assisted Reproductive Treatment Authority. Coursework builds a theoretical understanding of reproductive biology across human and veterinary medicine, assisted reproduction and conservation, and explicitly addresses the social and ethical questions these technologies raise rather than treating them as purely technical topics. Contributing departments span anatomy and developmental biology, paediatrics, physiology and pharmacology, giving the course a genuinely interdisciplinary base rather than a narrow clinical focus. It suits science or health graduates interested in the reproductive sciences broadly, whether their career direction is IVF and fertility services, veterinary reproduction, wildlife conservation or the ethics and policy side of assisted reproduction, and can lead into more specialised further study in the field.
