About this program
Monash's Master of Educational Leadership targets aspiring and practising leaders across education settings who need to operate in an increasingly complex, diverse and technologically driven sector rather than a traditional, stable school leadership environment. The course develops the professional knowledge needed to lead across globalised education contexts, examining leadership from a range of cultural and institutional perspectives before applying that learning through a research-based capstone project. It's designed for educators who already have leadership experience or ambitions, whether in schools, higher education or training organisations, and want formal credentialing that reflects contemporary leadership challenges rather than dated management theory. A pathway into a higher degree by research is available for graduates who want to keep building academic expertise in educational leadership after finishing the master's, making the course a viable stepping stone toward doctoral study as well as a standalone leadership qualification.

The course comprises 96 points structured into three parts
