Master of Health Science

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Master of Health Science focuses specifically on data analysis, processing and management within a health context, building competency in statistical and exploratory analysis, working with large and complex data sets, and understanding how data actually gets used and impacts outcomes in health settings. The course pairs these data skills with genuine health content, including epidemiology, biostatistics, health promotion and disease prevention, applying data analytics directly to real health care problems rather than teaching data science and health topics as separate strands. It suits graduates from health, science or data-adjacent backgrounds who want to move into health data roles, positioning them for careers in health system analytics, public health data work or health-sector data management where understanding both the data techniques and the health context genuinely matters.
