Master of Occupational Therapy Practice

Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

Monash's Master of Occupational Therapy Practice is a graduate-entry qualification for people who already hold a degree in a related field, such as psychology, health science or biomedical science, and want to move into occupational therapy without starting an undergraduate degree over again. The course builds an integrated, scenario-based curriculum and includes 1,000 hours of fieldwork education that meets World Federation of Occupational Therapists standards, so graduates leave with the practical clinical exposure that registration boards expect alongside the academic theory. It suits career-changers who've decided occupational therapy is their next step after an unrelated first degree, giving them a faster, more targeted route to registration than restarting from a standard four-year undergraduate occupational therapy program. On successful completion, graduates are eligible to register as occupational therapists and pursue roles across hospitals, rehabilitation services, disability support, aged care and community health settings.
